Branding Portraits for a Yorkshire Nutritionist

Personal branding photography is such an important consideration for any new start up business.  It was therefore so great to work with Anna as she recognised the importance of being really visible across her website and wider marketing activities from day 1.  Personal branding portraits are about giving a genuine feel for the person behind the business and help support engagement and trust with existing and potential clients.  First impressions are crucial for anyone with an online presence and in these days of digital media people really want to get a sense of who they will be dealing with when they pick up the phone or send an enquiry email.

Anna’s new business, Authentic Nutrition offers  expert support for people looking at a fresh way to approach a healthy lifestyle.  Anna has over 16 years working in the NHS as a Dietician and so it’s so exciting to see her bringing all of this expertise into a freelance set up.

Before the shoot, we had a really thorough planning session to help guide decisions on locations and styling.  We opted for a home based environment with bright white spaces for the first half of the shoot.  We then used the bright and vibrant light outdoors to capture a series of lifestyle images.  Our final destination was Bishopthorpe Road in York (aka Bishy Road!) which is my  local high street and is full to the brim of brilliant independent businesses.  We took some images in  local greengrocers Millies followed by some portraits in The Angel on the Green.

It was fantastic to have the services of Natalie Willingham for make up and hair for the shoot.  Natalie brings years of corporate experience to her styling work and really understands the needs of business owners.  I only work with styling professionals that are fully tuned into creating a natural and authentic look for my clients and this is at the core of my approach.
