Documentary shoot of artists at work
I was in documentary heaven on this recent shoot for Ros Johnson Design on location at Water House Studios in York.
I always adore getting behind the scenes and documenting work in process. It always feels such a privilege to observe people at work and record the passion and skill that goes into a piece or art.
Water House Studios have been lovingly brought to life by Ros and fellow artist Tom Brader. The studio is situated in a Grade II listed York Railway Station building and is a stunning studio space. Ros and Tom have worked so hard to clear out decades of debris and neglect. There is now a small group of artists working from the studios now with plans to further develop other areas of the building to increase capacity.
It was wonderful to document some of the original features of the building and love that Ros and Tom decided to keep a nod towards the railway heritage of the building.
A huge thank you to all of the artists at Water House – Rhiannon Kendall, Emma Whiting and Leah Pendleton Designs.
