PHOTOGRAPHY FOR BABA GANOUSH CATERING

I absolutely loved working with Yorkshire catering company Baba Ganoush on a recent branding and food photography commission.  The shoot was booked to support a website rebrand with the brilliant team at See Green.  The core of the shoot was about styled food photography which will act as hero images on the new look website when it launches.   We also took the opportunity to capture a sense of behind the scenes at Baba Ganoush HQ.  This included the chef team at work and closer in detail shots.  It was great to document head chef Matthew smoking The day of the shoot was just after the epic snowfall and the ‘Beast from the East’, so it was still absolutely freezing!  Nothing gets in my way when it comes to finding great natural light though so we opened up the floor to ceiling doors on the kitchen and put on the thermals and finger less gloves!  The soft daylight was perfect for the food set ups but I also used it to create a natural light studio for individual portraits of the Baba Ganoush team.  It was a rough and ready set up which worked really well with the gritty black and white finish we had decided upon for the portraits.  It’s so important these days to get visible and I love the arty feel of these portraits.  Behind the scenes pictures that showcase expertise, facilities and personality are so important to drive engagement.  It’s all about storytelling!

Baba Ganoush are a family run business led by Ashley and Matthew Hyde.  These guys are so passionate about what they do and create some stunning food.  They cater for private events and weddings across Yorkshire.  They are huge supporters of local and seasonal produce and have great relationships with food producers across Yorkshire.
