SKIPBRIDGE COUNTRY WEDDINGS
YORK WEDDING VENUE INTRODUCTION
As a York wedding photographer I love that there are so many amazing wedding venues on my doorstep. Skipbridge Country Weddings is one such wedding venue. It is located just off the A59 in between York and Harrogate. It’s the perfect setting for a rustic country themed wedding but without the requirement for a long drive out into the countryside.
Skipbridge is such a gem of a venue. There are quirky touches everywhere you look. The Hobbit Hole is a real highlight and offers a chill out area for guests to grab a cuppa later on in the day. For more serious late night drinking needs, the Whisky Shack and fire pit offer a brilliant hideaway.
The venue offers the option for an outdoor blessing ceremony in the grounds. Obviously this is weather dependent but it’s such a great idea for couples looking to bring a really personal touch to their wedding. It looks so good with the hay bale seating for guests and the willow tree backdrop.
For the wedding I photographed at Skipbridge the couple had chosen a Papa Kata teepee. Anything goes and owner Gill mentioned that they have all sorts of tents and marquees on the grounds to suit the different requirements of couples. The teepees always look great and offer an atmospheric ambience once the evening hits and the fire pits are lit and the sparkly lights come into their own.
I’ve picked out a favourite images that I feel showcase Skipbridge and some of it’s fantastic details.
