Open Farm School Day – Molescroft Grange

I was thrilled to be asked by the team at Molescroft Farm in Beverley to document one of their open farm days last week.  The scheme was started in 2011 and is now run on a nationwide basis by LEAF (Linking Environment and Farming).

The event featured several experts from across Yorkshire and the primary school children were able to learn about milk production, pig farming, grain and milling, farm machinery, chickens and water beasts and it was great to capture their excitement and enjoyment.

I used a documentary approach to capture events and interactions very naturally.  This approach is especially key when working with children as it allows natural personalities to shine through.

You can see more agricultural photography through my FARM TO PLATE PORTFOLIO sharing stories around provenance and farming.
