JACQUELINE JAMES HANDWOVEN RUGS

I always love undertaking photography for creative businesses.  My documentary photography approach is perfect for this type of commission as it enables me to capture a sense of process and expertise alongside equipment details.  I also love bringing in a feel for the artist or craftsperson and hands always feature in my work alongside wider environmental portraits. Jacqueline James Hand Woven Rugs has her weaving studio in York and designs bespoke woven rugs and wall hangings.  She works on a large Swedish floor loom and everything is made by hand.  Her work is absolutely beautiful and it was a joy to observe and document her at work. I’ve picked out some favourite images from the shoot.  Some of the images have featured in Jacqueline’s marketing literature and will be used going forward to support social media and online marketing.
